Ola amigos. It’s April and it’s autumn!
This time last year I was on my merry way to Canada and the U S of A for a six week jaunt with a few of my gal pals. This April is shaping up to be a little bit different and definitely cheaper, but equally as good - seriously. The anticipation of the upcoming winter sporting season is heightening with many teams and players getting stuck right into training regimes and fundraising campaigns. Good luck to all, looking forward to reporting lots of great results each month. Or at least sharing a few good stories! Options are a’plenty if you want to throw in a few dollars to help fund our local clubs. The footy boys are running a mammoth cash money raffle with a first prize of $15000(!), the hockey ladies are selling Town Golf Umbrellas, Supa Slices and running their annual Super 66 competition and the P&C are raffling a brand new Thermomix. Check out the ‘Community Notices’ overleaf for key contacts, or pop into the CRC to snap up your tickets! The newest addition to the CRC repertoire is Rhyme Time! The program has been resurrected and runs every second Wednesday at 9:30am in our Community Room. All are welcome to join in on some fun rhyming and singing. You can also check out the Toy Library while you’re at it, and of course, our kettle is always on if you want a cuppa and some adult conversation! The change in season and weather conditions is delivering some prime photo taking conditions. We want to encourage everyone to get out there and get snapping, and share them with us! You can do this by checking out our Facebook page (just search Quairading Community Resource Centre, and ‘like’ us while you’re there). Or you can email them to [email protected] or just bring us in a good old fashioned developed photograph, if that’s how you roll. We’ll print them all to create a display in our foyer, and share them online for the world to see! I’m going to make a super smooth segue here and give a shout out to our local Photo Club, they’re very welcoming of new members and I hear all you really need is a camera phone - no experience necessary. They meet monthly, get in touch with Russell (Rissole) Stacey for more info. Quick apology for neglecting to include the birthday page in the last couple of editions, but, they’re back! If you’d like to add your local friends and family, please let us know. Last (but not least), massive congrats to our resident love birds on tying the knot recently (that’s you Tarns Fraser).
