It’s almost December! Almost! That means crunch time. That means it’s time to finish off all those 2015 projects, achieve (make a start on) all those resolutions you made eleven months ago, get the crops off, find seven new recipes for the plethora of Christmas parties coming up and spare a thought for the communities within the Esperance region who have this pressure exponentiated with the devastating effects of the recent fires. If you’d like to donate to the Lord Mayor’s Distress Fund, details can be found on our Facebook page.
We’re not quite ready to wrap things up at the CRC just yet, and as always these pages are filled with upcoming programs and events. Our last Business After Hours with WBN (Wheatbelt Business Network) for the year will be held at Ag Implements on Wednesday 9th (page 12), our Christmas Movie and Lunch includes a screening of everyone’s favourite Love Actually on Friday 11th (page 7), Symphony in the City this year hosted by Stephen Curry will be beamed live to the CRC on Saturday 12th (page 11) and for the whole month of December we are running our own Shop Local Campaign. Keep an eye out for the advent calendar posters around town! A quick bit of housekeeping - please remember and respect the Tuesday 12pm deadline for the Banksia Bulletin each month and the Thursday 12pm deadline for the Qmunity Newsletter each week. We have limit page space and time to spend creating these publications and in order to produce a paper to the highest quality possible we need all your great content by deadline! If you type your notices (and I love it when you do!) pretty please email them to us, it will save hours in retyping time and eliminate typos! And just to really test you, there are some slight changes to December publications. The December Banksia Bulletin deadline is Tuesday 15th and there will be Qmunity Newsletters on Thursday 3rd, Thursday 10th and Wednesday 23rd (so we can wrap up and skip town before Christmas!). The December edition will include lots of special festive messages. Please let us know if you, your community group or business would like one included, free of charge of course! Oh and hey, have you liked us on Facebook yet? I’m not going to beg, but please do! We post lots of lovely bits and pieces on our page and we are totally overjoyed when we get to chat in comments with you. Just search ‘Quairading Community Resource Centre’ and add to our joy!
