I’m sure I’m not the only confused winter baby out there right now. Sure we’ve got delicious cold mornings going on, but we’re all stripping layers come lunch time and I’ve not once seen rain water flowing down McLennan Street.
Is it coming soon? Regardless, the change of season is here and June welcomes a few fun events, such as the Pop Up Italian Night at the Quairading Golf Club featuring the Flavour Town gals in the kitchen on Friday 7th June. These pop up dinners are an excellent example of a local business and a local club teaming up to do something epic in our community! If the Vietnamese night was anything to go by, those limited seats are going to be a very hot commodity—so get your bookings to Janine quick smart! Footy and netball are a little on again off again this month, with two byes and only two games. Get down to the bull ring on Saturday 22nd June for a massive day, with both football, netball AND hockey all in one place on the one day—all against our favourite rival, Cunderdin. The Bullettes have been in fine hockey form so they’ll certainly we worth a watch and a woo! The day will also feature the footy club’s annual Barb’s High Tea—a beautiful afternoon tea dedicated to the late and great, town hero Barb Simpson. A great day out for all Quairading timers, young and old! On the CRC front, we’re busy planning for the year ahead so as always, if you have an idea for a workshop or training opportunity, fun community event or otherwise that you think we might be able to bring to our community—or help you bring to our community—reach out! We hear the school are in full rehearsal mode for a pretty special annual musical this month, featuring bangers from The Beatles, to be held at the Town Hall on Thursday 27th June. Imagine all the people that will be there, you should be one of those people! *googles how to do a rain dance and chant* Jill Hayes Editor, Banksia Bulletin Coordinator, Quairading CRC
