I hope this barely-a-week has given you a slight chance to catch your breath, if you needed it. It feels like we’ve been steaming ahead to May so hopefully we can just coast for a few weeks now that we’re almost there. Unless of course you’re farmin’, you might need to get busy. And if you’re responsible for bringing the rain, I suggest you too get busy.
May will see the real crank up of our winter sporting seasons. The Bulls already have a win (yes a singular win, still counts) under their belt, the Belles aren’t far off and the Bullettes will soon take to the field to defend their ‘18 premiership! Though the course isn’t lush or green yet, golf is off and walking and even Baddy will start shuttlecocking next week. Have you spotted our new public art?! Do you love it? Do you hate it? Do you want to contribute some funds so we can organise more? If you answered yes to any of the above, PLEASE let me know! The ladies from Feet with Flair (Corrigin) AND Sand N Salt (Lake Grace) will be here on Wednesday next week (1st May) for all your season changing fashion needs. Come on down and treat yoself from 10:30am—but not a minute sooner. If you’ve noticed rubbish lying around the place, or have a guilty little voice in your head because you know you’ve littered once in your life, you should join in on the Town Clean Up to beautify our roadsides, and clean your dirty conscience. Meet at the Old Railway Station at 9am on Tuesday 7th May, the helpful Quairading Tidy Towns volunteers will lade you with rubbish bags and gloves before sending you on your way. Lastly, don’t forget to get your democracy sausage and cast a vote on Saturday 18th March in the Federal election! Oh man there better be snags (*hint* fundraising opportunity for a local group *hint*). May you all have a great month. Jill Hayes Editor, Banksia Bulletin Coordinator, Quairading CRC
