From the Editor October

I think I had a combined total of eight hours sleep for the month of September—anyone else in that boat? Odds on October being any more restful? Probably pretty slim, but I actually do not care because while things in thriving little Quairading have been pretty not stop—they’ve been pretty dang fun.

The last month has seen sports premierships, sports wind ups, long nights of play rehearsals, events galore, planning galore—everything but sleeping galore.

Our Alzheimer’s Awareness Day at the Quairading CRC was super successful with almost 30 locals (and even some visitors) packing into our Meeting Room to watch the documentary Alive Inside. We were also treated to a surprise presentation by Noleen Philippe (from the Pub!) a former community educator with Alzheimer’s WA. Thank you for sharing your expertise Noleen!

Selling Curtain Raisers Mamma Mia tickets has kept as surprisingly busy at the CRC with two of the four performances pretty close to selling out! If you’re dragging your feet and haven’t been in to buy your tickets yet, pick them up and get to it!

I hope you’re taking advantage of this fine weather and using it to get out into the bush for a look at the spectacular display of wildflowers on show. If you’re not lucky enough to own your own patch of bush, the Quairading Nature Reserve is a seriously underrated treat—only 5km from town. Stick to the clearly marked tracks and you’ll be sure to stay out of trouble and see all the goods on offer.

If you can’t find me come November, chances are I’m in a comatosed state of sleep somewhere. Do not disturb—someone else can put the Banksia Bulletin together, right?
